Q. What is HostRound cloud backup?
A. Simply, it's a data backup system that runs on your Linux / Windows server that will backup your server hard drives to the cloud to protect your data from unwanted loss due to many reasons including hardware failure and disasters. The backup is incremental, it means that it'll upload full server data to the cloud for the first time, then it'll upload new or changed files only on the next backup schedules. This will guarantee fast backups and less data traffic consumption.
Q. What are the restoration options?
A. You can restore a single file/folder/partition/drive or all server drives from the web console or by using a bootable ISO in case your machine doesn't boot up for any reason.
Q. What if my server's hard disk fails?
A. You can install a new hard disk and then you'll be able to download a ISO file from the Acronis web console, once you attach it to your server you can boot from this ISO which provides a GUI (Graphical User Interface) where you can restore your server data from a cloud or local disk backup.
Q. What are the supported operating systems?
A. Linux and Windows are supported.
Q. How often can I schedule backups?
A. The system is really flexible when it comes to backup scheduling. The minimum is every 1 hour.
Q. How can I manage the backups?
A. You'll have access to a web console where you can add/manage devices/servers, schedule backups, manage users, restore files/folders or the entire server.
Q. What are the backup storage options?
A. You can store your entire server backup on the cloud or on a local backup disk. For true data protection we recommend using cloud backup.
Q. How much storage do I need?
A. It depends on your server's current used space and how many backup copies you plan to retain.
Q. Can I scale my cloud storage later?
A. Of course, you can scale up your cloud storage at any time.
Q. How can I sign up for this service?
